The Geography of Greek
Greece had a very mountainous land. Plus, it was surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. Because of this, Greek's people became great sailors. Athens, one of Greek's city-states, focused on naval fleets. It is a peninsula, a body of land that has water on three sides. Greece also includes thousands of islands. Mountains cover 70 to 80 percent of Greece. The mountains divided it into many regions. The uneven landscape made transportation over land difficult.
