Alexander the Great
The Greeks had a good rule, but eventually, it had to come to an end. Philip II conquered both Athens and Sparta. Philip II was the leader of Macedonia. Philip organized a well-trained professional army. He devised new battle formations and tactics. He experimented with the combined use of cavalry and infantry. He supplied his soldiers with new weapons, like the catapult. After Philip II conquered Greece, he was assassinated, and his 20 year old son, Alexander the Great took the throne. Alexander conquered the Persians.
